Shake Shack - a - lackin with SANDY '12

10.28.2012 at 1pm in Madison Sq Park, home to the original Shake Shack, had the shortest SS line ever. 4 people deep. 15min from Line, Service, Eats. This was probably because most other people were grocery shopping or heading out of town to duck out Sandy’s way. [ There was a slow moving line to just get INTO Trader Joes on 23rd ]

This writer has seen too many power outages and storms in NY to really care about stocking up prior to a storm. Besides, how else can I live out my post-apocalyptic fantasies of surviving on wits & brawn in black tights & pink backpack if I have all the Kit Kats & Vitamin Water I need at home?!

Think of the conversations with strangers from all walks of life to be had on this day of great equalizers. In fact, this morning while supply scouting in Duane Reade I ran into and had a pleasant conversation with mischievous funny man Wallace Shawn by the halloween goodies.

Now reader, 7:23pm, I am back at DR; seated on the second floor with my back against Herald Sq so that I can crank out my weekly post. Maybe taking an easy route with what I earnestly believe to be the best burger in NYC.

Uh-oh. I think management might be coming to kick us out.
