This uptown outpost of the popular post work pub by the same name in, surprisingly, serves quite a decent lunch. Arriving at noon the bar was only lit by the flow of outside light and staffed by one 2 kitchen chefs and 1 very pretty waitress.

We split an order of Mango Crab – with fresh lump crab meat with mango and avocado salad and a pureed mango vinaigrette. The crab meat was so fresh and bouncy that it kicked up my very very mild raw shellfish allergy. Crab, Mango, Avocado.  So sexy, So FRESH, so clean a perfect little aperitif.

While throwing some fried noodles on a salad does not Asian make but the skirt steak was certainly tender, a little more done than the medium I had requested but far from chewy of overdone, but the sweet soy marinade was refreshingly delicious.

The Pesto Burger could have used a bit more of a kick– perhaps some hot and sweet red peppers but the pesto, cheese and meat came out just a little bland. However, excellent fries. Thick cut, great crunch on the outside and a starchy Thanksgiving dinner on the inside. Different story for the Tasty Tots [Tater Tots].

THE mind that sprung forth the Tater Tot truly loved the Potato. From the deep fried execution this morsel of pleasing potato retains its’ Spudly Shape and like an ode to a lover, the subject is adored and elevated.  This time, this place, did my Tasty Tots wrong and the desire for crispy burned my spudlettes to inferiority of cheap chips.

Average and far cry from authentic but still fairly tasty and at $6.95 for an appetizer, an entree, and a Thai Iced Tea in Midtown manhattan is rather difficult to beat!
